Harry "Butch" Lee Fruits of Crawfordsville died Thursday at his residence. He was 70.
He first worked for West Supermarket, then Crawford Food Stores for 30 years. After that he owned Fruits Trucking 2001-2003. He then worked for INDOT 2003-2009 and later Calder Farms 2009-2011.
He was a 1960 graduate of Crawfordsville High School.
He was born Feb. 1, 1942, at Crawfordsville, to Harry A. and Carolyn (Humphrey) Fruits. He married Barbara Schenck in August 1961. She is deceased.
Survivors include sons, Jeff (Vicky) Fruits and Don (Lou A.) Fruits, both of Crawfordsville; brother, Donald "Joe" (Etta Ruth) Fruits of Waynetown; sister, Kay (Jim) Holman of Crawfordsville; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Daughter Kimberly Ann Fruits; granddaughter Melissa Sue Fruits; and brothers, Robert "Bob" and Clarence "Ted" Fruits, are deceased.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 Monday at the funeral home.
