Herbert Cox, 80 of Crawfordsville passed away Saturday at home surrounded by his Loving family. He was born August 3, 1933 in Crawfordsville to Herbert W. & Viola Miller Cox.

Herb retired from the Crawfordsville Fire Department in 1988 after 20 Years of service. He attended the Fremont Street Baptist Church, was a lifetime member of the Athens Saddle Club, he had a passion for horses and loved playing and watching basketball and baseball.
He married Christina Wilson February 19, 1955, she survives. Also surviving are his daughters Vicki Melek of Greenfield, Linda (Scott) Walsh of Darlington, Peggy (Alan) Bane, & Cindy (Jim) Hoskins of Crawfordsville, and a half-brother Jim Sanders of Ft. Wayne. He also has 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, half-brother Raymond Miller, Half Sisters Marilyn Wilson and Betty.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Aldrich officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery North. Friends may call from 12-2 Tuesday at the funeral home.
