Hugh Van Nuys Morton, Jr., 72, Veedersburg, passed away Friday morning at his residence.

He was born on May 5, 1950, in Beech Grove, IN to Hugh Van Nuys Morton, Sr. and Jeanice (Auckley) Morton. He married Angela Pierce and she survives.

Mr. Morton was retired from C.S.I. where he had been a mechanical engineer. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed animals, farm machinery and hunting.

Surviving along with his wife are his children, Alex of Veedersburg and Carmen Austin of Hillsboro, and siblings; William, Mark, Michael and Matthew. He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Marilyn.

Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father Michael Bower officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
