Ilenia Sarah Treccia (Wade) Dexter, 84, Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital, Crawfordsville.
She wrote poetry that was published in the Montgomery Magazine and the Weekly, and received an award from the Poetry Society of America. She played music and was a member of the Jim & Jill Band as well as other bands.
She worked at the Mallory Capacitor Company where she was an Assistant Supervisor.
She was born in Wingate to Bernard Leslie & Nona E.G. Holden Wade on October 17, 1930.
Survivors include her children Robert L. Smith, Nona M. Turner, Carolyn (Willie) Shaw, Chester (Connie) Walker and James S. (Laurie) Dexter of Crawfordsville. A brother Arvin Wade of Odessa Texas, 14 Grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She also is survived by her best friends Catherine Phillips, Betty Brock, and Pat Houck.
She was preceded in death by 3 half-brother, Frank, Marion, and Cyril Mahaska, a sister Oveta (Wade) Wulle, Daughter in Law Susie Smith, and 1 Granddaughter Melissa Harwood.
Funeral Services will be 1:00pm Saturday May 9 at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Vernon Dowell officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery North. Visitation will be from 11-1 Saturday
