Irmingard "Irmi" Erika McKinney

Irmingard “Irmi” Erika McKinney (Kettemann), age 89,of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away peacefullyon September 23, 2026, at Whitlock Place. Shewas born on June 14, 1937, in Zell am Wiesental,Germany to Philip and Gertraude Ketteman. She was the third of five children.

Irmi will be remembered as a dedicated mother, wife, and widow of Dr. Paul McKinney,beloved friend to many, and active member and volunteer who participated and supported many local groups: Athenian, Art League of Montgomery County, League of Women Voters, St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Wesley Thrift Shop, Friends book group, Wabash College, faculty, friends, and students.

She leaves behind her daughter, Katherine McKinney (Don Bryan) and granddaughter Sophia McKinney of Indianapolis, son, Michael McKinney, Crawfordsville, brothers Bertold (Ingrid) Kettemann, Wehr, Germany, and Bernhard (Ilse, Matthias, Andrea) Kettemann, Graz, Austria, her three nephews from the Sempe family: Jean-Phillip, Daniel (Evelyne), and Wilfred (Sabah) in Paris, France.

A private burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery on Saturday, October 3, Rev. Jason Fortner, St. John’s officiating. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Tannenbaum Cultural Center, Crawfordsville, catered by Juniper Spoon, Saturday, November 14th, 2:00-4:30 PM.
