Jack L. Heuss, 83, Crawfordsville, passed away Friday,
February 19, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital
in Indianapolis.
He was born June 27, 1932 in Union
City to Walter F. and Blanche A. (Thomas)
Heuss.
He attended Wayne Township and
Green Township Schools graduating as
Salutatorian. He served his country as
a U.S. Army Sergeant from 952-1954,
spending most of his time in Korea.
He then went on to graduate from
Ball State University in 1957. He
was employed by R. R. Donnelly's
from 1957 to 1992 with most of
his career spent in the controller's
department.
His hobbies included working
with stained glass, gardening (especially
strawberries), spending time
with family, walking his grand dog,
antiquing and IU basketball.
He was a member of the Lion's Club, Crawfordsville
Country Club and attended First Christian Church.
He married Rita Gilmore. She survives.
Additional Survivors include his children, Jerilyn
Yerkes, Crawfordsville, Jeanine (Scott) Long, Strongville,
Ohio and Annelies (Henk) Kerkum, Ridderkerk, Holland;
two grandchildren, Alexander M. and Chelsea T. Long;
and three step grandchildren, Aaron (Kari) Yerkes, Ryan
Yerkes and Amy (Ryan) Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son,
Jeffrey.
Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28 at
First Christian Church. The family will greet friends
following the service Sunday in the church. Burial will
follow at 10 a.m. Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery South.
