Jim Emmert, 92 of Darlington, died Easter morning at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy after 68 years of marriage; also a younger brother Bill Emmert, of Noblesville. The first of three children of Otis and Mabel Emmert of North Salem, IN, he is survived by a sister, Nancy Dale of Danville, IN. Five children, Clara (Jeanie) Wray, Janet (Jim) Miller, Stephen (Sue) Emmert, Michael (Patty) Emmert, and Joseph Emmert survive. Also Surviving are eleven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Jim was a well-known and respected farmer in Montgomery County. Farming, fishing and family were the great loves of his life. For the past 35 years he enjoyed fishing during the winter months in Okeechobee, FL.

Funeral services will be held 3:00pm  Saturday April 26 at Darlington East Christian Church with Jim Spencer officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Darlington Christian Church or Darlington Public Library. The family would like to thank hospice, his caregivers and many friends for their support.
