James Goodwin, 64, of Crawfordsville died at 10:23 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Franciscan
St. Elizabeth Health-Crawfordsville.
Mr. Goodwin had worked at
RR Donnelly, and most recently
worked for Crawfordsville schools
as a custodian and bus driver.
He was a member of New Bethel
Fellowship Church and a former
member of Second Baptist Church.
He was a Kentucky Colonel and
was the first Black Projectionist
in the Projectionist Union in Kentucky. He was a 1968 graduate of
Crawfordsville High School.
He was born Sept. 21, 1948, at
Brooklyn, N.Y., to James Henry Goodwin
and Betty Jean Chandler.
Survivors include fiancée Lisa
Hall; his children, Justin (Sharon)
Goodwin, Anthony (Consuela)
Wallace, Kevin (Misty) Yates,
Ja'Quita Wallace, Jaymie Goodwin and Kristian Eubank; brothers, Ronald Goodwin, Joel Vaughn
and Michael (Pam) Chandler; and
10 grandchildren, Khadijah Butler,
Jordan Estrada, Mykailah Goodwin, Aaliya Wallace, Mya Eubank,
Jaden Dutton, Harlem Dutton,
Ethan Wallace, Jayden Yates and
Taylor Yates.
He is also survived by his ex wife Elaine Goodwin.
A funeral service is scheduled
for 1 p.m. Friday at Hunt & Son
Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave.,
with Pastors Dave Deckard and
Josef Lee officiating. Cremation
will follow the service.
Friends may call 11 a.m. to
1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
