On Thursday January 12, James "Mac" O. McLaughlin passed away at the age
of 83.
Mac was born on August 20, 1939 in Lafayette, IN to Eleanor and Clayton
McLaughlin. After graduation, He proudly served in the Army from 1961-1964
working with Nike Hercules missiles. Upon returning home he started work for
RR Donnelley, where he worked for over 30 years.
He met Sheila Sue Marshall in 1965 and after a whirlwind romance, they got
married on November 6, 1967. They were devoted to each other and shared a
love for bowling, the Atlanta Braves, and the Chicago Bears. Their faith led their
life and made them both stronger and great inspirations. Mac had a wonderful
sense of humor and had a love for music and woodworking. He played the
saxophone and got first place in a competition in school.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and Clayton, and his
loving wife, Sheila. He is survived by his daughter, Stefanie (Jack) Koning, sister-in-law, Janene (Alan)Plunkett, brother in law, Danny (Kathy) Marshall, and his
beloved cat and best bud, Lady Sarabi. He is also survived by a cousin and
many beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday January 19 at Woodland Heights Christian
Church in Crawfordsville at 2:00 with visitation from 12-2.
