James Donald Surber Jr. of Crawfordsville was called home Friday, Sept. 30, 2022. He was 62.

James was born May 5, 1960, at Crawfordsville, to James Donald Sr. and Della Jean (Dalbey) Surber of Crawfordsville. James was also known to his family as Jimmy. He had a medical condition that prevented him from talking but he knew how to communicate with facial expressions and his eyes. He loved life and proved to be a fighter until the end.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; sister Teresa McKinney; and twin sisters, Terry McDaniel and Sherry Vance.

Jimmy leaves behind sisters, Penny (Kenny) Lester and Barb (Rich) Austin, all of Crawfordsville, and half sister Angie (Don) Williams of Lebanon. He also leaves behind six nephews, 10 nieces and several great nieces and nephews who adored him.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery South. Hunt & Son Funeral Home is assisting the family.
