Jana Marie Brann Malone, 53, of Crawfordsville received her wings after a long battle with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (genetic lung disease) and recently diagnosed lung cancer on July 10, 2020, at home, surrounded by her family.

Jana was born Feb. 23, 1967, at Lafayette, to the late Robert Eugene Brann Sr. and Jacqueline Kay (Hardesty) Brann. After the passing of her father Robert Eugene Brann Sr., Jana was blessed to be raised by Chet Risner.

Jana graduated Crawfordsville High School in 1985. Most people will remember Jana by her smiling, bubbly personality at Uncle Smileys Restaurant, where is was voted "Waitress of the Year."

She is survived by mother Kay Risner; sons, Squire White and Keegan Malone; siblings, Robert (Judy) Brann Jr., Jimbob (Shawna) Brann, Brenda (Steve) Waite, Becky (Rob) Malone and Sally (Mark) Fruits; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and best friend Sara Williams, whom was the courage and humor the family needed to finish this journey with her. If asked Jana would always state, "I have four boys and four girls." Over the years Jana had the opportunity to love Mike (Carry Jo) and Matt (Darya) Malone and nieces, Andi Kribs, Tish Epperson, Ashley Harrah and Nikki Malone, as her own.

She was preceded in death by father Robert Eugene Brann Sr., Chet Risner and brother Tommy Brann.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Witham Health Services, Home Health Care and Franciscan Hospice Care that provided such great care for Jana through this battle.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, July 18 at Hunt and Son Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Roberts officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the service time Saturday.
