She was the fourth child of John & Elizabeth Thomas Witter. She had three sisters and one brother, all are deceased with the exception of her youngest sister Mary Gray of Rossville, IN

She grew up on a farm near Flora, IN. She graduated in 1937 from Camden High School. She worked at the Delphi, IN court house doing social work.

She married L.E. (Sparky) Titus on December 13, 1940. He was in the oil business in Frankfort. He was drafted into the Army Air Force and she followed him while he was in training state side. When he left for England during World War II she returned to her job in Delphi.

She was a gal with many interests. She loved music and sang in the choir at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Lebanon and First United Methodist in Crawfordsville. She also loved to travel and saw most of the United States and Canada. She made a trip to London England and Wales where many ancestors once lived. Probably her most favorite trip was spending three weeks in China where she walked on the Great Wall.
After her husband passed October 29, 1973, she became President of Titus Petroleum Co. in Lebanon and Titus Oil Co. in Crawfordsville and later a third location in Frankfort. She was about the only lady oil jobber in the state. She was a member of Rotary Club in Lebanon and Kiwanis in Crawfordsville.

While living in Lebanon she ran for Mayor. She was a member and past president of Psi Iota Xi Sorority. A member of Lebanon Chamber of Commerce and Indiana State Chamber of Commerce. She was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash from Governor Robert Orr. She served on various committees representing small business in Indiana.

She had four children, Joyce (Larry) Pettit of Crawfordsville, Linda Stoops Shaw, a Son Ron (BJ) Titus of Coatesville. Her grandchildren are Paul (Lana) Kruse, Tom (Cathy) Kruse, Karen (Vic) Fritz, Dale (Kristee) Kruse, Shawn (Edie) Pettit, Brandon (Jill) Pettit, Troy Stoops, Tom (Ranae) Stoops, David Stoops, Aaron (Karen) Forman and Adam Foreman. She also had several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Marsha Forman in 1990.

She will be missed, but she lived a long and productive life with dedication to her family, church and community.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 212 E. Wabash Ave, Crawfordsville with Rev. Brian Campbell officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 Friday evening at the church. A luncheon will be held at 11:00am Saturday at the Church. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery Lebanon following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Crawfordsville.
