Janet Aliene (Strickler) Valliere, 64, of Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 in her home.

Mrs. Valliere was born on March,17, 1953 in Williamsport, In. to the late Gifford and Bessie (Walters) Strickler.

Janet was a 1970 graduate of Waynetown High School, and an employee of Raybestos where she retired after 35 years. On March 15, 1991, she married Richard Samuel Valliere; who proceeded her in death. Janet attended Whitesville Christian Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her dog Angel. Some of her favorite pastimes were crocheting, traveling, spending time with the Prime Timers group, lunch and gatherings with the retired ladies group from Raybestos, helping out on the farm, cooking for others and having family and friends out for activities and special events on the farm.

Survivors include sister Norma (Leroy) Rothrock of Williamsport, Indiana; Donnie (Helen) Strickler of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; Mike (Celeste) Strickler of Crawfordsville, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Sam Valliere, her sister Ruth Davis, and nephews Steve Rolan and Larry Davis.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, September 21, at Hunt and Sons Funeral Home in Crawfordsville, In with Pastor Mike Whitaker officiating.  Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Darlington, In.

Family and friends may pay their respects Wednesday, September 20th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
