IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janis
Cook
December 18, 1946 – January 6, 2017
Janis Cook, 70 of Crawfordsville passed away Friday surrounded by her family.
Her 70 years on the planet were filled... Filled with lots of things - joy, fun, passion, attitude, zaniness, and large helpings of love were just a few of them.
She maintained a home, heart, and soul that welcomed all. Please know that she finished her journey surrounded by people who loved her. Family members of blood and of choice - both of which meant the world to her.
Also know that in passing on, in her home, so quickly and so peacefully, that she won, cancer did not. It was her choice to leave us this way, she was ready.
She was born December 18, 1946 in Crawfordsville to Reggie Wayne & Norma Jean Scott Johnson. She was a 1965 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. On December 18, 1965 she married William Cook, he survives.
Also surviving are her children, Stacie Cook and Logan Cook of Crawfordsville, one grandchild Justice Cook as well as close family friends Mandy Cox, Travis King, & Dayna Jones. She was preceded in death by her sister Deborah Johnson and her parents.
A Celebration of her life/ open house will be held Saturday January 14 beginning at 2pm at her home, 1601 James Dr., Crawfordsville.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to help a sweet young guy, Keaton King, in his battle against cancer. His family has established a gofundme account to assist with medical expenses. Given his age, he's two years old, his battle with cancer is being fought in a completely different manner than hers. While she found her victory in death - he HAS to find his victory in life. https://www.gofundme.com/keaton-kings-fight-against-cancer
