Jay Whiteley

Jay B. Whiteley, born November 14, 1944, to Ben and Mary (Heckathorn) Whiteley, passed away May 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jay B. was a graduate of Russellville High School, where he met the love of his life, Suzann (Greve) Whiteley. They were married on June 12, 1965, and shared 54 years together before she preceded him in death in 2019.

He found great joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. He loved playing golf, tending to his yard and garden, and traveling with his beloved wife. Above all, he cherished the life and memories he built with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Suzann; his only daughter, Jennifer Whiteley; his sister, Anita Stewart; and three brothers, Frank Whiteley, Bill Whiteley, and Edgar Whiteley.

Jay B. is survived by his sister, Marilyn Sue Norton; his brother, Lew David Whiteley; his granddaughters, Ashley (Lee) Menard and her husband, Mark, Rebekah (Lee) Lane and her husband, Caleb, and Sophia Kirts; and his great-grandchildren, Miles, Rowan, Oliver, Jennifer, and one great-granddaughter on the way.

A visitation will be held at 10 am on May 20 at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with a service to follow at 11:00 am.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Lane House for the care and kindness shown to Jay over the last few years. Those wishing to honor his memory are encouraged to play a round of golf, enjoy the outdoors, and think of him fondly.
