Jean. W. Slattery of Crawfordsville died Sunday morning, March 28, 2010, at St. Clare Medical Center. She was 85.
Born on June 30, 1924 in Waynetown, Ind., to parents Ernest and Aveline (Watson) Hendricks, Mrs. Slattery had been one of the first women to work for Mid States, where she worked in shipping and receiving. She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, the Elks, Eagles and the American Legion Auxiliaries. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School.
She married William Slattery, who passed away in 1976.
Survivors include sons Jack Slattery of Indianapolis and Stephen Slattery of Collinsville, Ill., as well as daughters Susan Plank of Crawfordsville and Mary Swank of Darlington. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, with Father David Hellman officiating. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home.
