Obituary
Jerry L. Smith, 73, of Crawfordsville, passed away Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette.
Mr. Smith was born Dec. 17, 1935 in Veedersburg. He is the son of Glenn Smith and Maurice (Jones) Smith.
He graduated from Crawfordsville High School. He married Rebecca Campbell on Sept. 19, 1987. She survives. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in Korea and Germany. He retired from R.R. Donnelly's after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion, VFW and Eagles Lodge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Scott (Debbie) of Las Vegas, Nev.; step-sons, Rob (Amber) Hummel of Lebanon and Brad (Sarah) Hummel of Crawfordsville; brother, Don Smith of Georgia; four grandsons; and four step-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Joe Smith.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Alan Goff will officiate the services. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery on Grant Avenue with services performed by the VFW and American Legion.
Friends and family can pay their respects from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
