Jerry P. Thompson, 75, of Wingate passed away Thursday. He was born July 21, 1939 in Clarks Hill to James Otto & Neomi Ivy Cox Thompson. Jerry served in the US Army from 1962-64. He had worked for Construction Products in Lafayette for 38 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion.
Jerry is survived by his Brother James "Jimmy" Thompson, Twin sister Janet Potter, sister Elizabeth Bartlett and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by longtime friend and companion Frieda Melvin. He was preceded in death by a sister Helen Hankins and a brother Henry Lee Thompson.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Goff officiating. Military Rites will be conducted at the funeral. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2 Tuesday.
