Joan Janice King, 80, of Crawfordsville, passed away Friday at St. Clare Medical Center.

Mrs. King was born Sept. 8, 1926 in Michigan Town to Harrison Stons and Blanche Pauline Mash Jenkins. She attended school in Michigan Town and was a graduate of Methodist Hospital School of Nursing.

On Sept. 12, 1952, she married William Henry King. Mr. King passed away on Dec. 31, 1971.

Mrs. King had been a nurse at Culver Union Hospital.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Retired Nurses Association.

Survivors include two sons, David (Debbie) King of Crawfordsville and John (Martha) King of Crawfordsville; a sister, Sue Carole Gochenour of Rossville; and five grandchildren,

She was preceded in death by a grandson, William King.

Services are scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m. at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Phil Collier presiding. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Family and friends may pay their respects Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
