Obituary
Joan Kritz Zach, of Crawfordsville, died at 1:49 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was 88.
Born on Nov. 23, 1921 in Mishawaka to parents James Kritz and Sarah Alice (Thompson) Kritz, Mrs. Zach first worked for Michiana Products. Later, she and her husband ran a W,B & K and Zach's Family Restaurants.
She was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, Art League, Flower Lovers Club, D.A.R., Antique Study Club, Alpha Iota Business Sorority and St. Bernard's Catholic Church.
She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Michigan City and South Bend College of Commerce.
She married William A. Zach on May 31, 1945 in Michigan City. He preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 2003.
Survivors included one son, Jim (Karen) Zach of Waveland; daughters Becky (Brad) Hurt of Crawfordsville and Barbara (Terry) Jackson of Lafayette; and four grandchildren, Jacob Hurt, Aaron Hurt, Jay Zach and Suzie Baldwin, as well as 13 great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with The Rev. David Hellman officiating. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral home.
