Obituary

M. Joanne Cripe, 81, Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday April 5 at Whitlock House in Crawfordsville.
She was born on June 9, 1933 in Perrysville, IN to H. Keith and Ruth G. (Bartley) Edmonds.
She had been a librarian after receiving her M.S. in Library Science from Purdue University. She had been employed at Attica Junior/Senior High School. She had also worked for Ben Hur Life Insurance Company, North Montgomery High School, Crawfordsville Public Library and Montgomery County Board of Health.
Her memberships included First Christian Church where she was involved with the chancel choir, hand bell choir, Christian Women's Fellowship and the Association of Disciples Musicians (ADM).
She married Samuel Cripe and he passed away February 13, 2015.
Survivors include her children, Dale W. Cripe of North Andover, MA and Lisa A. Cripe of Belleville, IL, brother, Charles Edmonds of Danville, IL, sister, Belle Morgan (Edmonds) of Georgetown, IL and four grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Jonathan and Rebekah.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday at First Christian Church with Rev. Keith Strain officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Friends may call 5-8 PM Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church or Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation.
