Joanne Smith, 82, Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday at Bickford Cottage.
Her memberships included being a permanent member of Ladies Murat Temple, a 50 year Eastern Star member, Ladies Scottish Rite and Christ's United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading and raising dogs.
She was born February 21, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Ernest and Ruby (McCormick) Taylor. She was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School. She married Billy E. Smith on April 22, 1950.
Survivors include daughter, Sandy Jones of Crawfordsville, grandchildren, Jason Jones and Tisha Garver, great grandchildren, Nadia and Jacob Jones.
She is preceded in death by her husband Billy E. Smith and daughter, Linda Garver.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Renick officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery South. Friends may call 12-2 Monday in the funeral home.
Joanne Smith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a strong woman who served her family and Lord. Her playful, spunky personality will be missed by all who knew her. She is now in heaven with peace and eternal happiness.
