Obituary
John W Brown, 53 of Crawfordsville, IN passed away in his home on September 14, 2018.
John was born in Lafayette IN on September 27, 1964 and graduated from Southmont High School in 1982. Soon after high school, John decided to enlist in the United States Navy, serving his country with honor through multiple tours including Desert Storm and Kuwait. He served the Navy for 22 years until he decided to retire in Pensacola Florida and move back to Crawfordsville with his family. He was a beloved member of the community, beloved husband and father. During his later years in the Navy and early in his retirement, John served as a Scout Master for a Florida Boy Scouts of America Troop and was very active in community charity services that benefited the community.
John is survived by his wife of 31 years, Betty Jane Brown, his two sons, Michael (Mallory) Brown and Shaun Brown, as well his father Everette Brown and brother Jessie Butts, Everette Brown Jr and sister, Marilyn Brown .
Funeral services will be held on Friday September 21, 2018 at Hunt & Son Funeral home at 107 N Grant Ave, Crawfordsville, IN 47933. Visitation starts at 12pm and the service is at 2pm with later finishing shortly at Pisgah Cemetery near Beckville, Indiana in Montgomery County. Burial services will be held as a military funeral.
