Obituary
John T. Spires of Crawfordsville died at 3:42 p.m. Monday in the emergency room at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health-Crawfordsville. He was 70.
Mr. Spires was retired from the Navy.
He was born May 25, 1941, at Florence, Ala., to Hubert and Nannie Idel Stanford Spires.
Survivors include: his wife, Cynthia Spires of Crawfordsville; sons, Johnny (Tracy) Spires of Pearland, Texas, and Jason (Amanda) Spires of Crawfordsville; daughter, Lisa (Perry) Thompson of North Judson; brothers, Herschel Spires of Alvin, Texas, Ralph Spires of Pearland, Texas, and Bobby Spires of California; sisters, Carlene Reynolds and Leva French, both of Mattawan, Mich.; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., with the Rev. Alan Goff. Burial with military rites will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday.
