Jonelle Jackson, 86, passed away March 6th in The Village of Avon, Avon, Indiana. Born Sept 27th, 1927 in Posey, Texas, She married Elton Jackson, "Gene", May 2, 1943. She kept the home fires burning while he was often away serving his country in the United States Air Force and lovingly cared for him until his passing in 2003. Prior to her marriage, she was a beautician and a telephone operator but more than anything she loved her role as mother of three, grandmother of six and great-grandmother of ten. She always supported their
activities, by either attending or supporting fund-raising activities and similar activities of her grandchildren. Her parents, Esther and "Doc" Walston and siblings Adale, Crystell, Dee, and Leon all preceded her in death and were undoubtedly awaiting her arrival in Heaven. She is survived by her children, Yolonda (Bill) Query, Gary (Vicki) Jackson, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Sheri (Steve) Nockels of Colorado Springs, CO. She is survived by a few distant family members and her nephew, Billy Balmanno of Spring, TX. She is also survived by her life-long best friend, Wanda Mae Webb and her husband "OJ" of Gulfport, MS, and many friends at the Village of Avon. Special thanks to Drs Scott Douglas and Valentine for their outstanding care. The family held a private celebration of her life in Crawfordsvile, IN. She will be buried at Oak Hill Cemetery.
