Obituary

Joseph G. Haskett, 82, of Crawfordsville died Sunday at Methodist Hospital. Mr. Haskett was born May 31, 1925 at Deers Mill to Leonard W. & Euma R. Cotton Haskett. He attended Alamo High School. He served in the US Army in the European Theater during WWII. Mr. Haskett was retired from Thrifty Supply and had been the custodian at the American Legion Post #72. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #72, Voiture 40&8, VFW #1431, Eagles #1005, Montgomery County Lodge F&AM#50, Murat Shrine. He married Marjorie Stephens October 12, 1946 at Crawfordsville, she survives. He is also survived by four children: Bill (Kathy) Haskett of Colorado Springs, CO., Cheryl (Gary) Douglas of New Market, Daniel (Vickie) Haskett of Hilltop, TX, & Karen Haskett of Crawfordsville 8 Grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 14 Great grandchildren and 1 step grandchild. Two sisters Jane Judkins of Carmel and Betty (Russell) Murdock of Taylor Ridge, IL also survive. 1 brother & 3 sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Thursday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Dowell officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery South with Military rites at graveside.
Friends may call 4-8 Wednesday with Masonic Rites performed at 8:00pm
