Joseph Romeo Rene Bonnoyer, 86, Crawfordsville, passed away on April 29 ^th at the Indiana Veteran's Home in West Lafayette.

He was born on December 31, 1936, in New Bedford, MA to Romeo E. and Lillian (Dallaire) Bonnoyer. He married Barbara L. (Cook) Ruschkewicz and she survives.

He was of the Catholic faith. He entered the United States Air Force at age 17 and retired after 20 years. He received various medals and a Bronze Star. He served in France, the Asian conflict, Germany, and various parts of The United States retiring from NORAD in 1974. He was also a musician, singer, and guitarist playing country rock and various other types of music.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Ronald Bonnoyer of Norfolk, MA, Kathleen Jensen of Ludlow, MA and stepson, Thomas Ruschkewicz of Austin, TX. Also surviving are five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North with military rites by the American Legion and United States Air Force. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4-6 PM Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Disabled Veterans of America.
