Joycelyn L. Brown, 81, of Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday morning at Williamsburg Healthcare.
Mrs. Brown was born Oct. 20, 1928 in Crawfordsville, the daughter of Elbert Lee & Lois (Paddack) Patton.
She graduated from Crawfordsville High. She first married Trevor Nixon in 1956. They later divorced. She then married Elmer Brown in 1973 and he passed in 1976. She had been a custodian at Depauw University. She was also a piano teacher and accomplished pianist.
Survivors include a brother, James C. (Marilyn) Patton of Crawfordsville; sister, Mary Edie (Alan) Cox of Darlington; and two grandchildren, Trevor and Hannah Nixon, both of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her second husband; son, Tim Nixon; and sisters, Jeanette Harper and Sarah Wininger.
She will be cremated. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. The Rev. Alan Goff will officiate.
Friends and family can pay their respects from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the mausoleum
