Obituary
Katharine Partlow Tifford, 96, of Crawfordsville, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday at St. Clare Medical Center.
Mrs. Tifford was born Nov. 21, 1912 in Alexandria, Va. She is the daughter of John and Alma Cochran Partlow. Her father passed away in the 1918 flu epidemic. Her mother married Thomas Steptoe.
She was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Women's College, Luynchburg, Va. She was married to Arthur Tifford. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1986.
She worked as a high school business teacher in Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland. She was an artist enjoying both oil and watercolors and received a local artist award in Maryland. She also loved dogs.
She is survived by daughter, Anne (Jon) Dantzig of Crawfordsville; son, John Tifford of California, Md.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was Preceded in death by her parents; and step-father, Thomas Steptoe.
Private family services will be held at a later date
