Obituary
Katherine M. Elkins, 96, Crawfordsville, died Wednesday at St. Clare Medical Center.
Mrs. Elkins was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse who practiced in Crawfordsville and Lafayette.
Born Sept. 26, 1909, Mrs. Elkins was the daughter of Leslie M. and Leona Bond Cox in Martinsville. She was married to Harold V. Elkins on Jan. 17, 1946. He preceded her in death in November, 1988.
Mrs. Elkins was a member of Smartsburg Christian Church and was also active with the New Life Singers at First Baptist Church. In addition, she enjoyed knitting and travel.
Survivors include a foster son, Franklin Young, Lafayette; stepbrother Robert Sosbe, Crawfordsville, and a stepsister Bessie Grimes, Rochester.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery North with the Rev. Mike Parks officiating. There will be no visitation.
