Obituary

Kathryn P. Arvin passed away peacefully at Whitlock Place early Sunday morning, Sept. 11.

Kathryn was born March 18, 1925, to Robert and Effie Carlyle Arvin. She was a 1943 graduate of Waveland High School.

After high school Kathryn moved to Chicago, where she worked for Time-Life Inc. for many years. She worked in cost accounting and traveled to Europe for the company.

She moved back to Montgomery County after her retirement.

She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her extended family. She was a member of Crawfordsville Art League. She participated in water aerobics for a number of years and looked forward to lunches with her exercise partners.

She was the sole survivor of nine siblings. Preceding her in death were her sisters, Mae, Bessie Tunin (Cecil), Mattie Palmer (Clyde), Virginia Oliver (Mark) and her brothers, Willard (Bessie), Stanley (Grace), Robert (Lois) and Charles (Isobel).

She is survived by her sister-in-law Isobel Arvin and nieces and nephews, Richard Tunin (Carolyn), Carol Pendleton (John), Judy Blue (Tom), Rebecca Williams (Bruce) Betty Cates (Willard), Jim Arvin (Gale), John Arvin (Linda), Mary Beth Martin, Susan McCoy, Julie Haga and Becky Haga, along with several great nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Hunt and Son Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at Lutheran Cemetery, Wallace, with hospice chaplain Chad Hair conducting the service.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Montgomery County Free Clinic.
