Kathryn Marie Mitchell Townsend, 83, of Crawfordsville
died Sunday at Ben Hur Nursing Home.
She had been a janitor for Waynetown Elementary
School.
She was born Jan. 19, 1929, in Crawfordsville, to Daniel
and Lamoyne (Dowden) Utterback. She first married Bill
Mitchell on Dec. 23, 1947, and he passed
on Nov. 4, 1980. She then married Charles
Townsend on Oct. 8, 1994. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Monty
(Marcia) Mitchell of Shadeland; daughters,
Lonetha (John) Fields of Waynetown,
Antonia (John) Maldonado of Waveland
and Honalee Evans of Crawfordsville; 12
grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
Her parents and sister Ruth Hampton are deceased.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt
& Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., with Laurel Lehr
officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Friends
may call noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral
Home.
