Kenneth Lee Norvell of Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday morning at his home at the age of 66.
Kenny, as he liked to be called, lived in Crawfordsville all of his life. He attended school in Crawfordsville from elementary school at Wilson then on to Tuttle Junior High, through Crawfordsville High School where he graduated in 1973. Growing up he played football and ran track and he played softball for Baptist Circle. He loved the games and was a great athlete. After high school he attended Indiana State University.
Kenny, was employed at Mid State in Crawfordsville and later at Alcoa in Lafayette.
The family has wonderful stories about Kenny as a child, and how much fun he brought into every situation. For someone who stayed close to the vest in Crawfordsville, Kenny always loved sports and was a San Francisco Giant baseball fan. He loved playing chess and was very competitive at it. He was an avid reader, loved comic books and was a music enthusiast.
Kenny was a lifelong member of Second Baptist Church.
Kenny was born June 13, 1954 at the old Culver Hospital. He was the son of Ella Mae Norvell.
He is survived by his mother, a sister Gloria Thornton and his brother Lorenzo Norvell both of Crawfordsville, and his sister Evelyn Stout of Hamilton, Ohio. He has a surviving uncle Jerry and aunt Rosey Bea and many cousins.
Visitation and Viewing will be from 12-1 p.m. Saturday the 19th at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. His service will commence immediately afterward at 1 p.m. led by Pastor Kenneth Wilson. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery will follow the services.
