Alvin Kenneth Leslie
Kenny passed away in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on August 1 after a 2 month illness with liver Cancer.
Born December 14, 1943 in Crawfordsville to Robert (Rocky) Bair and Mary Leslie. He married Betty Jean Yater on June 21, 1968 in Crawfordsville, IN.
Mr. Leslie worked at Petitt's Truck stop, RR Donnelley and Sons, and Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power for 37 years before retiring in January of 2006. He served four years in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a Little League coach in 1979 & 1980. He enjoyed reading, fishing, bicycling, traveling and walking with his dog, Lucky, in the wee hours of the morning throughout the city for exercise.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, two sons, Matthew (Susan) of Atoka, TN, & Mark of Crawfordsville; three grandchildren Samantha McClure, Marlina and Zachary, 3 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law Linda Bair and Nancy Yater; a nephew, 2 nieces; aunt & uncle; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, half-brother Mark Bair, a niece and a great-nephew.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Mark Stevens officiating. Interment will be in the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery with Military rites. Visitation will be from 6-8 Friday.
