Larry Chambers 86, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023.

A native of Crawfordsville, IN he was born July 26 ^th , 1936, to Earl and Kathleen Chambers. Larry graduated from Crawfordsville High School where he earned 4 letters in wrestling. Larry attended Indiana University on a wrestling scholarship and officiated high school and college wrestling for 15 years. Larry is a member of the Indiana Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Crawfordsville High Scholl Athletic Hall of Fame. Larry was a member of the Antelope Club, the American Legions, Moose and Eagle Lodges.

In 1957 Larry joined Indiana Insurance and eventually was promoted to assistant manager of the casualty underwriting department. In 1962 Larry joined Jack Flynn in forming the John W Flynn agency (now EPIC Insurance) and held various management positions there until his retirement on December 31, 1995. Larry divided his time in retirement between Indianapolis and Naples, FL.

Although never married Larry had a 35-year relationship with Ms. Barbara Pickett who preceded him in death. Larry was also preceded in death by his brother Forrest Ward Chambers and sister Barbara A. Austin. Larry is survived by stepson Mike Pickett and stepdaughter Charisa Springman, five grandchildren 4 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Calling will be on March 9 ^th in Crawfordsville, IN from 11AM to 1PM at Hunt and Son Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, IN with a lunch after. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 15 ^th from 4PM – 7PM at the Great Divide in Indianapolis whose owner, Jennifer Ostermann, was a loyal and dear friend.
