Obituary
Larry Jay Metz, 70, of Crawfordsville passed away Friday morning, Sept. 23, 2016, at home after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Metz worked for the state of Indiana for 36 years.
He enjoyed having coffee with friends, playing cards, taking care of his granddaughter, NASCAR racing, fishing and loved his dogs.
He was a 1964 graduate of Brazil High School.
He was born Jan. 11, 1946, at Brazil, to Clarence H. Sr. and Bertha (Lemay) Metz. He married Nancy L. Nowitzke. She survives.
Additional survivors include: stepdaughter Kelly Achtabowski (fiancé Josh Crose)and his daughter Jacey Crose; step-granddaughter Emma Meade (fiancé Aaron Ziegler); along with nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence, Earl and Don Metz; and sister Doreen Anderson.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., with the Rev. Warren Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery South. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
