Lawrence C. Smith, 57, Crawfordsvile, died 3:20 a.m. Friday in St. Clare Medical Center.
Mr. Smith was a Certified Public Accountant. Previously he was a commercial pilot and flight instructor at Brownies Sky Airport.
His memberships included American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Indiana CPA Society, National Association of Public Accountants, Better Business Bureau of Central Indiana, and St. Thomas Aquinas, Lafayette. He was a 1969 graduate of Indiana State University with a degree in aerospace technology and a 1971 graduate with a degree in accounting. He served in the Air Force.
He was born Feb. 9, 1949, at West Terre Haute, to William S. Smith and Mary Louise Wake Smith. He married Jean Rodgers April 3, 1971, at Terre Haute. She survives.
Also surviving are his father, Terre Haute; sons Christopher Lawrence and Benjamin Carl, both of Crawfordsville; daughter Samantha S. (Timothy) Merryman, Crawfordsville; brother Bill L. (Geri), West Terre Haute; sisters Mary Ann (Jim) Berg, Dallas, Georgia, and Patti (Pete) Thiel, Mayock, NC.; and three grandchildren.
His mother is deceased.
Funeral services are scheduled 1:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Bernards Catholic Church with Father David Hellman officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the church.
