Lela Lofland, 92 of Crawfordsville passed away Monday at Whitlock Place.
She was born November 28, 1928 in Robinson, IL to Leslie and Flossie Butcher Clark. In 1947 she Married John Lofland, he preceded her in death in 2018.
Lela had worked at Western Union in Chicago and later Crawfordsville where she met John. She attended Purdue University and became a Registered Nurse working at Culver Hospital.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Eastern Star Athens Chapter 97, and The Daughters of American Revolution. She and her husband were avid campers and enjoyed traveling, and were members of the National Campers and Hikers Association.
Lela is survived by her children John (Mary Ann) Lofland, David Lofland, and Natalie (Gary) Newlon. Three sisters Hulah Odell, Mary Tindall, and Lola Piersall as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter and son in law Carolyn (Dan) Chaney.
A private family service will be held, with a public celebration of life held at a later date. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, Eastern Star or Daughters of American Revolution.
