Leo J. Schafer, 61 of Poland, IN formerly of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday, January 16 at Putnam County Hospital.

Leo was born July 8, 1960 in Indianapolis, IN to James & Rita Talboo Schafer. He was a graduate of Lawrence Central High School and attended IUPUI. Leo worked in Medical Coding sales, and found much success over a long career, traveling all over the world while providing for his family.

While he found tremendous success in sales, his true passion was in music. An avid musician of many instruments and talents, a true performer in every sense of the word. His voice and guitar will, without a doubt, reverberate in the memories of those who knew him, forever

He married the absolute love of his life, Lori Hoeferle, on September 3, 1988, she survives. Also surviving is his only son and pride and joy, Paul

James "PJ" Schafer; Brothers Brian (Susan) Schafer, Joe (Betty) Schafer, and Alan (Julie) Schafer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Kevin Schafer and Neil Schafer.

A memorial service will be held 4:00pm Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00pm. The family is requesting only family and close friends attend and masks to be worn for safety.
