Leslie Ray Dewey, 70, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away on May 19 th , 2020 at his home.
Poke was born on September 30 th , 1949 to Virginia Dewey (Harris) and Wesley Dewey in Crawfordsville, IN. After graduating from Crawfordsville High School, he went on to be drafted by the Army and stationed in Panama.
Poke worked for Crown Cork and Seal for 35 years. He is the father of three children. Melissa Tague, Jason Dewey, and Matthew Dewey, all of Ellettsville, IN
Poke was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Melissa, Jason, and Matthew and always tried his best to support them.
Poke was also a passionate about working on and building cars. He could often be found fishing when he wasn't at home.
Anyone who knew Poke knew that he was the most loving father a family could ask for. Poke was predeceased by his father Wesley, mother Virginia, and brother Michael. He is survived by his siblings, Sharon and Kim, daughter Melissa Tague (granddaughter Emersyn), son Jason Dewey, and son Matthew Dewey (wife Lisa and grandchildren Jamasyn, Liam, and Greyson)
The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Hunt and Son Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
