IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leverne
Patton
December 28, 1948 – November 23, 2020
Crusie "Leverne" Patton, 71, of Crawfordsville, IN went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2020, with her son, Eric, and his wife, Tammy, by her side. Born on December 28, 1948, in Nashville, TN., Leverne was one of six children of Hollis Mason & Alma Irene McCutcheon Breeding. Leverne was a 1967 graduate from Maplewood High School and Draughon's Business College in Nashville. It was in Nashville, TN that she met her husband Marc whom she married on April 20, 1968. Two years later Marc and Leverne moved to the family farm in Montgomery County.
Leverne was known for her hard-working ethics. Off the farm, she was employed by Indiana Motor Parts and years later employed by Wilson Construction before she retired to spend time with her granddaughter, Bailey. Leverne was not only known for her hard work both on and off the farm but for her caring and generous ways. Her passion for flowers and gardening led her to the achievement of Purdue University's Master Gardening degree. In her downtime, she loved to read and instilled that enthusiasm in her granddaughter. Leverne was an avid cook preparing many meals for family and friends over the years.
Her favorite pastimes were spent at the family lake cottage, mowing (which seemed to continuously expand over the past few years as if she was determined to find more to mow), and encouraging Bailey to be creative in arts and gardening.
Leverne will be dearly missed by all of those that knew and loved her, including her son, Eric (Tammy) of Crawfordsville, granddaughter, Bailey of Crawfordsville, sister Maxine Bridges, sisters-in-law, Cyndi Belue, Sue (Willy) Herron, Jerilyn (Tim) Isley, Deatra (Ed) Kinney, brother-in-laws Mike Bunch, Ron (Betty) Risk, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Billy, Charlie, Ferrill; sister, Judy Bunch and sister-in-law Rhonda Breeding.
Leverne's wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest with a private graveside ceremony.
Donations made in lieu of flowers can be made in honor of Leverne's favorite causes: Ronald McDonald House, American Heart Association, Alzheimer's Association, and St. Jude Hospital.
