Lloyd Max Todd, 83, of Crawfordsville
died at 12:30 a.m.Friday
in his
residence
Mr. Todd
was a
farmer for
30 years
and drove a
school bus
for 47 years.
He joined
the Navy in
1944, and
served during
World War II as a sonar man on
a destroyer escort ship that
escorted aircraft carriers. He
was a member of Mount Zion
United Methodist Church and
graduated from Crawfordsville
High School in 1947.
He was born Nov. 22, 1926,
at Crawfordsville, to Carl S. and
Dailie O. (Cory) Todd. He married
Billie Biggs on Feb. 28,
1947. She died Sept. 27, 2002.
He then married Elizabeth Fruits
Waye on March 20, 2004. She
survives.
Also surviving are sons, Sam
Todd of Fort Collins, Colo., and
Scott (Sharon) Todd of Boise,
Idaho; daughters, Susan (Don)
Vaught of Jamestown and Sally
Swisher of Crawfordsville;
stepdaughters, Joyce Anderson
of Crawfordsville and Karen Bruton
of Frankfort; stepson, Mike
Esra of Crawfordsville; brothers,
the Rev. Robert Todd of
Franklin, Glenn Todd of Sarasota,
Fla., and John Todd of
Lowell; 7 grandchildren; and 9
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death
by brothers, David and Joseph,
and sisters, Martha Jean
Thompson and Carol Merrell.
Funeral services are scheduled
for 11 a.m.Monday Mount
Zion United Methodist Church,
with the Rev. Warren Stewart
officiating. Burial will be in Oak
Hill Cemetery North with burial
rites conducted by the Veterans
of Foreign Wars and the American
Legion. Friends may call
