Obituary

Because she was married to Bud Brady for 69 years, with whom she had five children, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, Lois Loraine Smith Brady was best known as "Grandma Turkey Lips." She died Saturday, Sept.12, 2020, in her home, surrounded by love.

Loraine was creative, resourceful and strong. These qualities were evident in her "Garage Sale Christmas" events, and in the way she clung, through happiness and hard times, to life and to that handsome boy she met in study hall 72 years ago.

Loraine was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School and lived her entire life in Montgomery County. She was a Den Mother, Brownie Leader and member of 4-H, Eastern Star, Home Ec Club and Ladies Aid. She may have been your Avon Lady at one time or another as well. She was a member of Young's Chapel Christian Church and a person who loved to help others.

Survivors include: her husband, Clyde Brady Jr. (Bud, "Turkey Lips"); her children, Becky Shelton, Cathy (Ray) Dugard, Buddy (Jan) Brady, Denny (Kathy) Brady and Dawn (Steve) Brady Wimmer. Many other family members and loved ones will miss her as well.

Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 with a service beginning at 2 p.m. These events will take place at Hunt and Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice.
