Lois Dorothy Dahl, 84, Crawfordsville, passed away Thursday at Franciscan-St. Elizabeth Health in Crawfordsville.
She was born on December 16, 1929 in Chester, PA to Samuel David and Dorothy (Pote) Blakeley. She graduated from Wilmington High School in Wilmington, DE as well as the University of Delaware. She did post graduate studies at the University of Chicago. She had been a registered nurse and a homemaker.
Her memberships included P.E.O., Antique Study, was an alumni member of Tri Kappa and Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church where she belonged to the Anna Harter Walter Women's Association. She was a volunteer nurse for the Christian Nursing Service.
She married Russell Dahl on April 24, 1954 and he survives. Also surviving are her children, Russell N. (Melynda) Dahl of Porter, IN and Kristine (Greg) Bell of Covington, grandchildren, Anne (Rex) Spencer, Adam (Fiancee Melissa McDonald), Kyla (Sabena) Dahl, Eva Dahl, sister, Ann (Jess) Kay). In addition many nieces and nephews survive, including a close nephew, Bill Gran. Lois had many wonderful friends in Crawfordsville and all across the country.
She is preceded in death by brothers, David and Richard Blakeley and sister, Connie McClure.
A memorial service is scheduled for 12:00 PM Saturday December 13th at Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. John Van Nuys officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church or to the Dr. Mary Ludwig Free Clinic.
