LuAnne Rice, 66 passed away Tuesday at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville. She was born June 25, 1952 in Crawfordsville to William & Joann Poole Symmes.

A graduate of Crawfordsville High School, she worked for many years as district manager of Insight Communication. In 2001 she obtained her associate degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and recently retired from the Crawfordsville Community School Corporation where she worked as an accountant.

She was a member of the Whitesville Christian Church and American Legion Auxilliary. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Daughter and sister.

She is survived by her mother Joann Troxel of Crawfordsville; Son John (Stacy) Douglas of Crawfordsville and Daughter Rachel (Levi) Cron of Sault St. Marie, MI; Grandchildren Dirk, Clive and Neil Cron of Sault ST. Marie, MI and Isabella Douglas of Crawfordsville. She is also survived by her brother Jeff Symmes of Lafayette, IN.

She was preceded in death by her son Brian Douglas in 1995 and her father William in 1984

Funeral services will be held 11am Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Whitacre officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery North. Visitation will be from 4-7 Thursday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home.
