Margaret Hybarger peacefully passed away on her 98th birthday on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, in the presence of her family.

Margaret was preceded in death by her father, Roy Shelton; her mother, Leatha (Hayes) Shelton; her husband of 60 years, Oscar; brothers-in-law, Robert Hybarger and Rex (Lois) Hybarger; sisters-in-law, Rilla (John) Trout and Janet (Robert) Shelton; and daughter-in-law Lucia (Richard) Hybarger.

She will be missed dearly by brother Robert (Janet) Shelton; daughter Patricia (Jerry) Smith; and son Richard (Lucia) Hybarger. Margaret was blessed with six grandchildren, Janette (Mark) LeRoy, Jerry (Sandy) Smith, Jeff (Brenda) Smith, Steven (Brandy) Hybarger, Glen (Annie) Hybarger and Clarissa (Scott) Wallace. Margaret also leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She has two nieces, Roberta (Don) Stewart and Sally (Andreas) Rodriguez; and nephews, Hal (Sharon) Shelton and Sam (Kathryn) Shelton.

Margaret was a devoted wife and mother and was active in her church at Smartsburg as pianist and organist and more recently an active member of Lakeview Church in Indianapolis. She was also a member of the "Red Hats."

Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 29 at Hunt and Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., Crawfordsville, from noon to 2 p.m. immediately followed by services officiated by Pastor Neal Dreadin from Lakeview Assemblies of God. Graveside service and internment will follow at Oak Hill cemetery.
