Marian J. Morrison, 87, Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday morning at Westminster Village in West Lafayette. She was born August 13, 1928 in Crawfordsville to Herbert C. and Genevieve L. Morrison. She was a Secretary for the US Foreign Service, serving at posts in the Union South Africa, Greece and Paris, France. She then returned to the U.S. and served at banks in Chicago, Evanston, IL, Indianapolis and at Elston Bank in Crawfordsville.
Marian is a fifth generation member of Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church where she had served as a member of Board of Trustees and an elder. President of Crawfordsville District Public Library Board of Trustees. Board Member of Montgomery County Historical Society and Old Jail museum. Member of National Secretaries Assoc., Crawfordsville Art League, Crawfordsville Park and Recreation board, Order of Easter Star, Athenian, was a founding board member of Montgomery County Community Foundation and was an endowed chair for cancer research at the SImon Cancer Center. She is a graduate of Crawfordsville High school, Brad Junior College, Depauw University where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority, Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 at Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church with Dr. John Van Nuys officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to service. She will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery on Grant Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Montgomery County Community Foundation Marian Morrison Funds, 119 E.
