Marilou Manion, 101, of Crawfordsville, passed away Saturday, December 20 at Whitlock Place.

She was born April 21, 1924, to Walter & Zola Bever Benefield in Fountain County.

She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1943 and Tucson Beauty College in 1967. She owned and operated Head Hunter Beauty Shop from 1972 to 2018, serving her last customer at the age of 94.  In addition, she was a landlord in Crawfordsville.

She married Clinton J Manion on November 16, 1950. He preceded her in death in January 2003. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, M. Joan Funk Lauctes, in 2013.

She is survived by a son, Walter (Ellen) Benefield of Greenwood, Daughter Linda (Dennis) Haltom of Crawfordsville; 4 grandchildren, Tammy (Richard) Garrett of Greenwood, Michael (Trisha) Benefield of Greenwood, Angela Haltom of Batavia, OH, and Crista Funk of Pasadena; 8 Gret-grandchildren Kennedy, McKinley and Harrison Garrett, Mason, Stella & Davis Benefield, Evelyn Kunkel and London Funk-Tesar.

Her life was always about family. She loved people. She enjoyed coffee with Friends, Family dinners, and took an interest in her tenants. A kind, caring person who treated everyone with respect.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 26, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 12-2 pm.  Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery North.
