Marilyn Howell, 74, of Crawfordsville passed away Saturday at her home. She was born in Crawfordsville August 2, 1936 to Cecil and Oka Boze. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School and attended John Herron Art School.
She repaired antique porcelin dolls out of her home and was known nationwide for the quality of her doll repair. She was a business partner with her son Michael and was involved with antiques throughout her life which led to the opening and ownership of Cabbages and Kings Antique mall. The name was based on her favorite childhood book Alice in Wonderland. She was a member of Art League and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She married Richard Howell on October 5, 1958 he survives. She is also survived by her daughter Malinda Howell, two grandsons, Nicholas Howell of West Lafayette and Joshua Howell of Crawfordsvlle; two sisters Anne (Byron) Loveless and Betty (Leo) Thompson. She was preceded in death by her son Michael, four brothers, Clare, Donald, Fern & George Boze and one sister Virginia Scott.
A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Friday at Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Van Nuys officiating. Friends may call from 1-2 Friday at the church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.
