Obituary

Marjorie A. Cheek of Crawfordsville died Thursday in Franciscan
St. Elizabeth Health-Crawfordsville. She was 74.
Mrs. Cheek worked at Farm Bureau Insurance, Snacker
Grill and Crawford Industries. She was a member of Elmdale
Community Church and Stars of Indy Camping Club.
She was born Aug. 7, 1936, in Shelby County, to Leonard and
Lula (Richerson) Short. She married Alonzo Cheek on Aug. 10,
1956. He died Aug. 16, 2001.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda (Sam) Haslam of
Crawfordsville; three brothers, Dallas Short of Indianapolis,
George Short of Greenfield and Charles Short of Morristown;
two grandchildren, Jennifer, Brittany and Cody Haslam; and one great-granddaughter Rylan.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday in
Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., with the Rev.
George Smith officiating. Burial will be in Meharry Cemetery at
Wingate. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home.
